Spicy Shrimp with Soy Sauce
Here is a simple recipe for spicy shrimp packed with flavor from soy sauce, garlic, chili powder, crushed red pepper, and balsamic vinegar. A perfect 15 minutes meal for weeknight dinner!
You can serve this spicy shrimp dish as an appetizer, or pair them with rice, noodles or steamed vegetables as a main dish.

Yield: Serves 2
- 350 g uncooked shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 1 green onion, sliced
- 3 garlic cloves, minced
- 4 fresh basil leaves, finely chopped
- 3 tablespoons soy sauce
- 1/2 teaspoon crushed red pepper
- 1 teaspoon chili powder
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 2 tablespoons balsamic vinegar
- 1/2 teaspoon sugar
In a small bowl, mix together soy sauce, balsamic vinegar, crushed red pepper, chili powder and sugar. Set aside.
Heat olive oil in a wok or pan over medium-high heat. Add garlic and sauté until fragrant, about 1 minute.
Add shrimps and cook until both sides are pink, about 2 minutes on each side.
Add the sauce mixture and stir until shrimps are coated, about 2-3 minutes.
Remove from the heat and garnish with green onion and basil. Serve the spicy shrimp with rice, noodles or steamed vegetables.

Does the shrimp need to be thawed or can you use frozen shrimp? This sounds really good, I can't wait to try it!
