Nachos
Nachos are a popular Mexican dish made with tortilla chips, jalapeno peppers, green onions, olives, shredded cheese, and topped with salsa sauce and sour cream. Serve with Guacamole or Avocado Dip on the side for dipping.
Nachos can be served as a snack, appetizer, or a full meal depending on the toppings and portion size. The perfect snack for sports events, and casual gatherings.
Yield: Serves 4
- 150 g tortilla chips
- 2 jalapeno peppers, chopped
- 1/3 cup sliced green onions
- 1/2 cup sliced olives (if olives are salty, soak in the cold water for 20 minutes and then drain)
- 2 cups shredded cheddar and mozzarella cheese
- sour cream
- salsa sauce (ready to serve) or Fresh Tomato Salsa Sauce
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
In a baking sheet or oven-proof plate, arrange a layer of tortilla chips, followed by olives, jalapeno pepper, green onion and cheese. Repeat layering until all ingredients used. Top with more cheese.
Bake in the oven until cheese is melted, about 10 minutes.
Garnish with sour cream and salsa sauce or put them on the side for dipping. Serve immediately.
