Ham and Cheese Omelette made with cooked ham, eggs and cheese takes only a couple minutes to prepare and makes a great meal to start a busy day. I am sure this easy omelette will become a favorite of your family!

Omelettes are the perfect breakfast or brunch idea, and they can be filled with anything like ham, chasse, vegetable or herbs. If you are vegetarian or prefer the veggie version, try this Basil and Parsley Omelette recipe.

Ham and Cheese Omelette

Yield: Serves 2

Ingredients:
  • 4 eggs
  • 5 slices cooked ham (turkey or salami)
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • salt & pepper to taste
Instructions:

Crack the eggs into a small bowl, add salt-pepper and stir gently with a fork until well-beaten.

Heat oil in a 12-inch non-stick frying pan over medium-high heat. Pour the egg mixture into the hot pan and tilt the pan slightly to cover the base. Reduce heat to medium-low and cook.

As the omelet begins to set, lift the edges with a spatula to check underneath.

When the omelette is just about completely set, sprinkle with a layer of the cheese over half of the omelette.

Then put all the ham slices on top of the cheese as a second layer.

Sprinkle with the remaining cheese on hams.

Then slip spatula under the unfilled side, fold the omelette over the filled side and wait till cheese melts.

Gently slide your omelette onto a plate. Serve the omelet immediately with bread.
