Salsa
This homemade Salsa recipe made with tomato, onion, garlic, jalapeno, and green pepper is so simple and easy prepare that you’ll never buy the jarred stuff again!
How to use salsa? Use as a dip for French fries and tortilla chips or use it warm as a topping for Tacos, Nachos, and Chicken Quesadillas.
Yield: Makes 2 cups salsa sauce
- 4 medium fresh tomatoes, finely chopped
- 1 medium onion, minced
- 1/4 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1 jalapeno pepper, stem removed and chopped
- 1 green pepper, minced
- 3 garlic cloves, minced
- 3 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 3 tablespoons red wine vinegar
- salt & pepper to taste
In a saucepan, heat oil over medium heat. Add the tomatoes, onions, green peppers, oregano, garlic, jalapeno pepper, vinegar, salt and pepper to taste.
Cover and simmer until thickened, about 30 minutes. Chill and serve with warm tortilla chips.
