Breaded Tilapia
Breaded Tilapia is an easy and crispy pan fried fish recipe. I made this seafood dish with tilapia fillet but haddock, catfish, cod, or other mild fish fillets are good choices too.
To prepare breaded tilapia, first beat the egg, salt, pepper, paprika powder, garlic powder and lemon juice. Dredge the fillets in flour. Dip in the egg mixture. Dredge in bread crumbs and fry until crispy.
What to serve with Breaded Tilapia? Complete your meal with Parmesan Garlic Roasted Potatoes or Roasted Green Beans and Mushrooms, and lemon wedges on the side.
Yield: Serves 2
- 2 tilapia fillets (about 400 g)
- 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 cup dry bread crumbs
- 3 tablespoons all-purpose flour
- 1 egg
- 1/4 teaspoon paprika powder
- 6-7 tablespoons cooking oil
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- salt & black pepper to taste
Crack the egg into a bowl. Add salt, black pepper, paprika powder, garlic powder and lemon juice. Beat well.
Spread the all-purpose flour and bread crumbs in 2 separate plates.
Wash and pat dry the tilapia fillets. Coat them in all-purpose flour, turning to coat. Dip them in the egg mixture, turning to coat. Then dredge in breadcrumbs.
Heat oil over medium heat in a frying pan. Place the breaded fillet (breaded on both sides) into the pan and reduce heat to medium-low. Fry until they are cooked through and lightly golden brown on both sides. Place them on paper towel to absorb extra oil. Serve with lemon wedges.
